For that extra special celebratory or wedding gift a personalised message or inscription can be hand written on any ceramic piece by Richard and finished off with his signature and the year.

Navigate to the product page of the specific product you'd like to order. Pick the design you want. Inscriptions work on any ceramic — plates, bowls, mugs and platters.

Tick the Personalisation Box & Add Your Text

Directly above the add to cart button you will find the inscription option. The box must be ticked — a message typed without ticking it will not be ordered.

The £9.95 is added when the item goes into your basket, and your message travels with that item.

Open the basket from the top right at any time. Every personalised item carries its own message line, so if you are ordering several pieces you can see at a glance which message goes on which.

The Lettering

The lettering, which is applied with a black ceramic pen, is baked on and is dishwasher and oven proof. Personalisation can usually be turned around within a couple of days but longer if Richard is away on location painting — we will advise about this and you will have the option of cancelling your inscription if it takes too long.

Where it Goes

Inscriptions preferably go on the back of the ceramic giving them more protection if they are to be used. Using common sense on the number of characters according to the space available, Richard will contact you if the message needs shortening.

Caring for Inscribed Pieces

Although the inscription will be dishwasher proof, as it is applied and baked onto the surface and not fired into the glaze, care needs to be taken on the inscription area. If the piece is going to be used it is best written on the underneath side.

When hand washing, lightly wipe the area of the hand written inscription only — never use a scourer.

Best not to leave the piece to soak.

If you do, let it drip dry on its side rather than putting a drying cloth over the handwritten text.
